Why does Calvary Zion Children's Home Support Trust need sponsors? We believe that in sponsoring an individual child you can identify with that child and take an interest in their development. The child might also feel more supported knowing that someone is taking an interest in them. How does it work? The Trust finds sponsors to pay the fees for individual children, preferably for as long as the child attends school and college. We collect the donations in our charity bank account in the UK and make a bank transfer twice a year to the Calvary Zion Children's Home bank account in Kenya. How much does it cost? It costs about £300 (UK pounds) per year for to cover costs for a child to attend primary school and slightly more for secondary schools. This can be paid monthly or in a lump sum once a year. We can claim Giftaid on behalf of UK tax payers. What if I can't pay the full amount? You could donate money towards school clothes or equipment for a child. Use the Sponsor a Child button and select the single payment option. Here is an idea of typical costs per child for a year:
